Programme et structure de l`A.D.A.O

L`Association des Artistes de l`Outaouais est une institution culturelle autonome, sans but lucratif, dont les bases ont été jetées en 1996 par trois artistes locaux: Norbert Denis, Fred Bedford et Lorna Gauthier. Ces trois artistes ont voulu se pencher sérieusement sur les problèmes et les difficultés matérielles grandissantes rencontrés par les métiers d`Art.

L`A.D.A.O. ouvre largement ses portes, non seulement aux artistes, quelle que soit leur nationalité, leur tendance ou leur confession, mais aussi a tous ceux qui, dans un monde orienté vers des fins plus réalistes, sont désireux de préserver l`intégrité des disciplines intellectuelles et artistiques.

Notre programme est dynamique, car il tend vers des fins pratiques. Notre rôle est de faire connaître l`artiste, d`élargir ses horizons et de le soutenir dans sa carrière.

L`Association fourni aux artistes professionnels et amateurs la chance de partager leurs accomplissements, de s`encourager mutuellement et de communiquer leurs besoins, expertises et aspirations.

The establishment and operation of the association of artists is for the purpose of encouraging, promoting public appreciation and interest, providing facilities for education and instruction and arranging exhibitions of creative endeavours of all kind and such other complementary purpose not inconsistent with these objects.

Ottawa Valley Artist Association

The Association is dedicated to the fellowship guidance, inspiretion and support of artists in all field of creative endeavor at every level of skill. The O.V.A.A. will provide the community of artists with an opportunity to share their accomplishments, give encouragement, and communicate their needs, expertise, and aspirations to one another.

In short, it`s an organization supported by artists, for artists. When you enroll, you will receive a membership card and in recognition of your support, a hand some certificate that can be displayed in your home or studio, identifying you as a O.V.A.A. member. Members will be offered endless opportunities to partake in upcoming activities conceived especially and exclusively for them.

Association news bulletin

Every now and then, members will receive the Ottawa Valley Artist Association news bulletin reporting on member`s participation in shows, galleries, and other events. The O.V.A.A. will also alert you to all scheduled activities of the Association and keep you informed of the dervices and discounts available. It will be informative, enjoyable, inspirational, and full of news and gossip.

Scholarships

Each year, scholarships will be awarded to young people gifted or desiring to pursue studies in art. A portion of each member`s annual dues will be allocated toward the scholarship program. And as the membership grows, so will the number of scholarships !

Exhibitions

Members only shows scheduled throughtout the year and throughout the region, will be held...all to provide increased recognition and appreciation of art.

Remember that you get out of membership exactly as much as you put into it. The purpose of the gallery is to provide a venu for member artists to exhibit and sell their work while offering the community an opportunity to experience all type of visual art.

Membership application / Adhésion

MEMBRE ARTISTE : toute personne qui pratique de façon courante les arts plastiques, la sculture ou autres aspects des arts.
MEMBRE ASSOCIÉ : le membre associé a le droit de participer à toutes les activités de cette société d`artiste et recevra un avis concernant toutes les activités au cours de l`année. En tant que membre associé, cette personne contribue au bon fonctionnement de l`Association des Artistes de l`Outaouais et ainsi aide a promouvoir les arts dans la région.
MEMBRE ÉTUDIANT : est un étudiant en art ou qui est intéressé a devenir un étudiant et aimerait cotoyer la présence d`artistes plus avancé.

LE PRIX DE LA CARTE DE MEMBRE 1998

Artiste membre : $25. Membre associé : $20. Membre étudiant : $15.

L`adhésion doit être soumise et approuvée par le commité.

AN ARTIST MEMBER : is anyone actively engaged in the pursuit of any of the accepted branches of fine arts or of sculpture.
AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER : is a contributing membership. The assiciate member is entitled to participate in all of the association`s activities. Associate members receive notification of major events throughtout the year. As a member, he/she contribute to the advancement of the Ottawa Valley Artist Association and helps to promote artists.
A STUDENT MEMBER : is an artists student or one who is interested in beciming a student and would appreciate the association with more advanced artists.

MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR 1998

Artist member : $25. Associate member : $20. Student member : $15.
